Hey, It Is a House

I told you they were working on the house inside all week and I was just dyeing to see what they were doing.  Usually I don’t go over without Tyler and he is so busy every day he invites us to go over with him on Saturday late afternoon,  We each get a drink and some times a chair and go over and have a party as we look around, comment on anything that was done that week and plan what we are going to put here or there.  Of course Patty and I know the bottom line is that it is Tyler’s house and he as the final word on what goes into it but he is nice and lets us talk and plan.  Every once in a while when we come up with something he just could not live with he speaks up but most of the time he is like every other man and just listens and lets us talk and we know when it comes time to do it he will let us know loud and clear how it is going to be.  We know he wants it to be a man’s house not a kids play pen or an old lady’s house so I know my touches will be in my room only but I will use the living room and have my recliner out there, I will pick one that matches his so it won’t look out of place.

Anyways I could not wait any longer so this morning I took my phone and went over and WOW have they been working.  All the wall board is up and ready to be finished.  Then I came back and sent the pictures to my Mac so I could show you and that usually take a day or two but today they went instantly so here they are.

I will take you for the tour.  I always come in through the garage and here we are.  You can see all the wall board is up and ready to be taped and sealed and here is the material to do that.  I bet they start on that soon. The door goes into the living room/dinning room area or you can. hang a sharp left and go into Tyler’s master suit.  Notice the trap door to the AC unit if that ever needs servicing.

Follow me though the door into the living room.  looking right this is the living room you see.  Nice and light and breezy.  The front door is just off camera on the front wall. OOOO I can’t wait!

Looking a little left you see the kitchen.  The window over the sink for Patty and me and the bar for Tyler, notice the outlet under the bar I’m glad that is there.  It is a good size kitchen with the dining area just this side of it and all open to the living room I guess this area they call the “great room”  and to us it is a great room!

A couple steps left you walk into Tyler’s room.  A nice big room and so handy to the garage so he doesn’t track up the house when he has been working in the garage he can just jump into the shower and is ready to sit down and watch TV .

just on the other side of the wall from the window is Tyler’s private shower.  I know he will be pleased to have a private bath, right now he has to share it with 6 other people because they all like his bath room the best and it is the handiest for them to use.  This will be a nice tiled shower not a drop in unit, and a full bath with elbow room.

Beside the bathroom is Tyler’s walk in closet.  This is a small house so he is not going to set up a bed in this walk in closet but he will be able to walk in and have shelves for all his paint ball equipment besides his clothes and usual closet items.  It is nice and deep and very private..  There is no reason for anyone going into this side of the house uninvited the master suit and garage is off limits to any but Tyler, the rest of the house he will share with us.

Going across the living room we came to the laundry room, Patty is giving Tyler a washer and Dryer for a house worming gift so this will be full equipped.  The other appliances are furnished by the builders all he has to do is pick them out from the available models.

Just behind the laundry room is the linen closet and this one will be just for linens.  Right now Patty’s linen closet is full of her quilting material but we will have a craft/storage shed for that her at Tyler’s house, Becca will also us that to take some of the pressure off her house.  A house with out the clutter is much easier to keep clean and neat and that is what she is hoping she and the kids can do once we move 3 adults out.

About face and you go into the bath room for everyone else.  It is right off the living room and next to Patty’s and my bed rooms.

It is a full bath with a walk in shower for me as I can’t get up and down out of a tub and Patty likes a shower best too so we agree on most things.  Right next to that is my room with a nice large window facing the front of the building.  I picked this room because I like to look out side and see what is going on, it makes me feel more connected with the world.  I will also get a nice breeze here with the window open, right now there are no screens on the windows but I bet there are screens to put on after all the mess of construction is finished. I took a picture of my nice big closet, not as big as Tyler’s but more than enough space for me so I will share it with Gina or Becca if they need extra room. Right next to me is Patty’ room.

You see Patty’s room is the mirror image of mine.  Same nice big room with a large window over looking the back yard.  She wanted this room because it does not have the street noise so is quieter and more private both of which I don’t need since I don’t have to go to work every day.

This is Patty’s closet, mine is just like it except just a tad smaller she thinks I know mine is bigger than I need or have ever had all to my self.

Going full circle and back into the great room you find the bar on your right and the dinning area straight ahead.  Tyler will use my new dinning room table and chairs that Norman and I just bought for the villa .  It should look very nice here and fit right in with his color scheme.  And that brings us back to the beginning.  Everything is top quality and so nice.  We are so lucky this builder could fit us in there is so much new building gong on in Port St Lucie.  Two houses on this street alone are being remodeled and another one has just cleared a lot to build a house there.  I don’t know who is building it for them but I know they could not do a better job than Port St Lucie Properties they were the best 23 years ago and have gotten even better.  Have a great day

About Carol (Ouma) Petts

I am a retired teacher. I have taught all levels from kindergarten through college and have been retired now for over 20 years. The last ten years we have lived on a farm and lived off the land, growing our own food and canning for our extended family. Now we have sold the farm and are moving to Florida to truly retire. I guess I have always had a short attention span as this is our 11th move. We have moved from a small farm in New Hampshire, to more city type living, small business adventures, focusing more on traveling, Florida living, Georgia, and Tennessee farming and now back to Florida. My blog is a way to keep my children up to date on what I am doing and letting them know I am still alive and well. My children are spread across the country from New England to Florida, Nova Scotia to New Mexico and CA and several places between, They let me know what they are up to by commenting on my blog but they are so busy with their own lives most times I have to assume " no news is good news". Now I are starting on a new adventure so will try to give daily updates until we get settled into a routine. Then I know even if I am getting older and should settle down I will start looking for some new and exciting adventure to start. Welcome aboard. Norman died Oct 30, 2017 so I am continuing the journey alone with the aid of my children, grand children and great grand children. At present I am living with my daughter and we are 7 in one house and cover four generations. We range in age from 7 to 85 and are finding common ground, we are living proof that multi generations can live and function in a three bedroom house if they really want to. Soon my grandson will have his house built next door so we all will have a room of their own except for the seven year old twins who by choice will share a room.
