I looked out of my bed room window this morning and this is what I saw, Surprise!!
Yesterday there were men at the house working and I never found out what they were doing. They were in and out of the house all day and a big truck came a unloaded stuff but I couldn’t see what it was and I got so busy I never went over to see. We don’t go into the house unless Tyler is here to go with us, it is his house and we are very careful to look as if we are taking it away from him, he has worked too hard and too long saving for this moment. Yesterday he didn’t get home until well after 8pm as he goes and Thursdays and sells platelets from his blood to fix up his truck. He is such a good manager of his affairs, he saves the house payment , living expencses and 10% of all he makes for his investment/retirement fund so when he wants to fix up his truck he has to find another way to raise the money and that is how he is doing it. Can you think of any other young man that is so organized and careful about his future? Some girl one day will be very lucky to get him provided she will want a good retirement and life too. If she just wants a good time, I don’t think he will be interested. So we feel he deserves out respect also and we wait for him to take us next door and see what is going on in the house.
Yesterday I watched as they carried out big chunks of white cement for the dumpster and was dying to know what was going on and then this morning when they came to paint around the windows I knew. They have put in the windows. The slider in back is not in yet but all the windows seem to be. Tonight we still will not go over to see inside as Tyler is away this weekend at a tournament with the paint ball team. I hope he wins as right now they are in first place and the one in first place at the end of the season goes to the State competition. I do hope for his sake they make it.
Anyways see what a difference windows make. I don’t know what kind of trim goes around the windows but I know the cinder blocks will all be covered with stucco so there is a lot more to do outside but they are coming along fast. The team worked all day here inside and out so Sunday night we should get to go in and see what else has been done. I won’t be long before they can get the AC working so much of the finish work inside can be done in comfort.
Last picture of Took. I did not go out front for pictures as they men were all working out there and I don’t want to get in the way.
I have done all my computer work on my Mac Air that Shanti gave me for my birthday and Christmas about 10 years ago and when the last update came for the Safari my poor old machine could not take it. Every time I went on to my bank or to Amazon or such sites they said I was using an unsupported browser and should upgrade it now. I tried and 1 part went on and two more it said were unconpaterble and my machine got slower and slower. I knew I would need a new Mac soon as Shanti who got hers about the same time she gave me mine had to replace hers several months ago. So Wednesday I bit the bullet and went to Best Buy and picked out a new model. I wanted the same thing Mac Air as I really liked mine and finally know how to run it. I only know about 1 tenth of what it can do if that but it does all I need or want it to do so got the same thing only a newer model and one with twice the memory etc. I told them I need them to transfer all of my data from my old machine to the new one and they sent me to the Geek Squad right there in Best Buy to do it. It cost $149 to do it and that was fine with me as I could never do it and I had to leave both Macs there for them to do it. The gal told me for $199 I could for full service for a year and that would cover any help I needed on my Mac or anywhere computer we had and a whole list of things they could fix like that and Becca had two that she needed help on so I got that. When they took my old Mac they asked if I wanted to keep that and I said yes, I could at least play Gomes on it and she said oh she was sure they could cleanup and fix my old Mac so it would take the up dates and work fine and that was covered in the plan I just got. Make a long story short – I now have two Macs that work perfectly. If I had known that could be done I never would have bought a new Mac but I am sure between the three kids who need a computer to do their home work on someone will use them and I will play around with them now and see some of the other things I can do on them. I won’t be wasted. Right now they have one of Becca’s lap tops and they are cleaning that up all under the plan I got and then we will bring them in the lap top that Shirley gave Becca and have them fix that up so Gina can use it for her home work on I-ready. The boys will be in first grade this next year and also needs a computer to do home work. Their assignment are on the internet and the teachers have to check the internet each day to see if they do it, if they don’t do it at home they have to do it at school during computer class time instead of learning new things on the computer. This may get Gina interested in doing school work again.
So on ward and up ward, new starts for a new year for all of us. You have a great day and try something new, it really is fun and you are never too old to start a new adventure.
