Not much to say.  I keep too busy and get so confused I just spin my wheels and get nowhere.  Today I got an email and call from Juan, my real-estate agent  He has a document I need to sign but it didn’t come through like others he has sent and the auto sign didn’t work so we spent so long trying to get that to work.  I can’t just print it and sign because Joe’s printer will not recognize my phone or laptop and Joe will not be back here until Friday night or Saturday morning.  So frustrating!!  Juan will have the secretary send it to me in the morning and see if it is something he was doing wrong.  We have done it before but not today.

Today I made hamburg with the mushroom soup.  Luke didn’t know it was mushroom soup because he doesn’t like mushrooms and if he knew what it was he would not eat it.  I put in just enough mushroom soup to make it like a light gravy and he loved it.  Landen always tries what I make and he loved it so it is an easy meal I can make again.  I also put a pork shoulder into the slow cooker for tomorrow.  I have cooked it all day, and just took it out and pulled it.  Luke does not like anything with tomatoes in it so I got a recipe for Coca cola pulled pork, I used Dr Pepper as that is what Luke likes but now tomorrow when we are going to eat it I have to heat it up either in a BBQ sauce or the spinach sauce.  I have both so I’ll let the boys decide which I should use.  I could care less which ever they want.  In between all the rest of the mess we did our school work so now I am very tired again.  I am just not used to working all day.  I haven’t done this for 30 years and even then I had Norman to tell me what to do and help me do the things and make me stop when I got tired.  Now it is just keep going and go on to the next thing until I fall asleep.

I did get my washing done today.  Wednesday is wash day as I got here on the Wednesday.  Joe has a nice big machine so my whole weeks washing fits into the machine at once, when I change only the bottom sheet on the bed.  Next week I have to do both sheets so I may have to do two loads.

Nancy called to day.  It was nice talking to you.  The voice mail that was interrupting us was the message from you when we got disconnected.  Do you think we will ever be able to understand these new things.  I do love the face time and unlimited calls but boy the new phones are so confusing.  Give me the old crank phones anytime =  all you had to do was let someone else dial up the number and you talked but of cause that cost too much to talk much.

Patty, I hope you are feeling better.  I wanted to call this afternoon but you said you had a meeting today so I hope you are feeling better and that you are taking care of yourself.

Rosemary-  I always enjoy your letters.  My day would not be complete without a word from you.  I admire you so much, taking care of yourself all alone and doing such a great job of it.  Your girls must be so proud of you.  Wish I could do as well, I just need someone to talk to or talk at as I always did with Norman.  I used to look forward to Patty’s visits on Wednesday afternoons.  I got to talk steady for an hour or two and have someone answer me back-  now I have only the boys who just agree with anything I say  so I have to decide everything.  There I go complaining again, I sound just like my mother and promised Norman and myself I would not do that so I best keep my mouth shut and keep my sunny side up.  If I can do that I’ll talk at you again tomorrow.  Love to all –  have a great day.

PS   Landen took some great pictures yesterday on his climb up the mountain and when he gets them to my desk top I’ll put them on my blog –  that will give me something nice to talk about.

About Carol (Ouma) Petts

I am a retired teacher. I have taught all levels from kindergarten through college and have been retired now for over 20 years. The last ten years we have lived on a farm and lived off the land, growing our own food and canning for our extended family. Now we have sold the farm and are moving to Florida to truly retire. I guess I have always had a short attention span as this is our 11th move. We have moved from a small farm in New Hampshire, to more city type living, small business adventures, focusing more on traveling, Florida living, Georgia, and Tennessee farming and now back to Florida. My blog is a way to keep my children up to date on what I am doing and letting them know I am still alive and well. My children are spread across the country from New England to Florida, Nova Scotia to New Mexico and CA and several places between, They let me know what they are up to by commenting on my blog but they are so busy with their own lives most times I have to assume " no news is good news". Now I are starting on a new adventure so will try to give daily updates until we get settled into a routine. Then I know even if I am getting older and should settle down I will start looking for some new and exciting adventure to start. Welcome aboard. Norman died Oct 30, 2017 so I am continuing the journey alone with the aid of my children, grand children and great grand children. At present I am living with my daughter and we are 7 in one house and cover four generations. We range in age from 7 to 85 and are finding common ground, we are living proof that multi generations can live and function in a three bedroom house if they really want to. Soon my grandson will have his house built next door so we all will have a room of their own except for the seven year old twins who by choice will share a room.
