Jet Lag

I have always heard of jet lag but didn’t really believe it was real.  I never had trouble with it until today.  Last night I went to bed earlier than usual because of all the excitement I had yesterday.  I slept well but was awake by 3 this morning and just could not get back to sleep.  I was all slept outs by 3:30 I was and got to much of my compute work done.  Then when the rest of the world got up Laura and Landen joined Joe and myself for breakfast at the hotel.  I ate more for breakfast than if have for weeks.  Then we started up the mountain.  What a beautiful ride over the mountain.  At the top is a big skii tow and resort.  There was plenty of snow and they were very busy.  It took me back to New Hampshire and I remembered the many many winters playing  on the ice and in the snow  I had no desire to get out and play around in the snow today but it did bring back some very happy memorizes.  On the other side of the mountain was quite different.  There was no snow in Leavenworth or in Wenatchee but all the trees are bare and most things are brown.  I bet it is pretty here in the spring with all of the trees in bloom.

We stopped at The Hampton  Inn which Holly is manager of.  It is brand new and so pretty!!  She has done such a super job with it.  I can’t imagine being able to handle that job myself.  dI admire her so much.  Then we stopped at the store and got some things for lunch and supper.  Our last stop was at home and I got to see my  new home.  It is a very pretty apartment or should say town house.  There are three stories in a split level idea.  Landens room and the laundry room in down one flight of stairs, then up one set of stairs you find the living room, the kitchen/ dinning room and a half both.  Then up one flight you find Joe and Holly’s room, my room and two both rooms.  Luke’s room is just off Joe’s room.  It was a walk in closet and they have changed it into a bed room for Luke.  It really is neat but small.

We had sandwiches for lunch and then pork chops for supper as soon as Holly got in.  She was so glad to have supper all cooked for her when she got home and it felt so good to get to work in the kitchen again.

Right now I am very sleepy and having trouble staying awake.  I really don’t want to go to bed too soon because I want to sleep in past 3 in the morning but I don’t think I will make it up much longer so had better start getting ready for bed.  Have a great day.

About Carol (Ouma) Petts

I am a retired teacher. I have taught all levels from kindergarten through college and have been retired now for over 20 years. The last ten years we have lived on a farm and lived off the land, growing our own food and canning for our extended family. Now we have sold the farm and are moving to Florida to truly retire. I guess I have always had a short attention span as this is our 11th move. We have moved from a small farm in New Hampshire, to more city type living, small business adventures, focusing more on traveling, Florida living, Georgia, and Tennessee farming and now back to Florida. My blog is a way to keep my children up to date on what I am doing and letting them know I am still alive and well. My children are spread across the country from New England to Florida, Nova Scotia to New Mexico and CA and several places between, They let me know what they are up to by commenting on my blog but they are so busy with their own lives most times I have to assume " no news is good news". Now I are starting on a new adventure so will try to give daily updates until we get settled into a routine. Then I know even if I am getting older and should settle down I will start looking for some new and exciting adventure to start. Welcome aboard. Norman died Oct 30, 2017 so I am continuing the journey alone with the aid of my children, grand children and great grand children. At present I am living with my daughter and we are 7 in one house and cover four generations. We range in age from 7 to 85 and are finding common ground, we are living proof that multi generations can live and function in a three bedroom house if they really want to. Soon my grandson will have his house built next door so we all will have a room of their own except for the seven year old twins who by choice will share a room.
