Moving Along

Tuesday!  Another couple things ticked of the list to do.  This morning after I said Good Morning to Rosemary and gave Shirley a call I got started on todays chores.  I packed up all the papers and things in the living room except the TV and it’s wires.  Then Landen and I mopped the floor well, now when Tyler takes his TV and other boxes and I take the router for the wifi and for comcast and take those back I will have just that corner to clean. I’ll give the rest of the floor a quick wash again too   Then I packed up a couple boxes to send to me in Wenatchee, folder I don’t have to do anything more this month on and a few little things I just plain wanted to take and a couple boxes to go to Shanti.  One was the different little things that I found of Dad’s as I did the final  packing and a few nuts that I had left that I can’t take with me.  I still have quite a bit for Patty to take but nuts are always welcome.  The other box I don’t remember what was in that one but it was address to Shanti so I am sure it is the same kind of things – Oh, I bet it contained the pillow she forgot and more nuts.

Then I packed up the last box to go to storage and put one of my quilts in a large bag along with a few things.  We wound up with the box and two good size bags and took those to storage.  We did manage to get those in number 15.  I think we could put a couple more bags  in there but no more boxes.  That will make both units full.  Now if I have anything left that is good and Patty doesn’t want it will go to “Safe Place”.  They make good use of things with no complaint.  I also had two big bags full of odds and ends for Safe Place and we took those down and stopped for milk and Landen got some snacks and I got a coupe avocados .  Then it was home and hoping to hear from Gary about the small repairs that are needed in side here.  He came on Sunday and said he would get right back to me about the cost.

Juan call and asked if Gary had called.  Juan has been trying to reach him but gets so answer and he is worried something has happened to him, he is no spring chicken so I hope he is alright.  If Juan can’t get him today he will have to find someone else to do the work so we can get the final FHA inspection and appraisal done before the 6th.  Then I had to face up to the window that needs to be fixed.  We had these nice windows put in in 12012 and we have been very happy with them but Norman broke one window the first year and never got around to call the company to come and fix it.  They have a life time warranty on them or 10 years beyond the purchase date if you sell the house.  He just just worried about it.  The spring came unhooked so the window does not stay up by itself and he expected to be here a lot longer. So when I went to Lowes yesterday to check on what I had to do to have it fixed for FHA I found I could call the company and wait for them to get back to me and set a date for them to come and fix it or I could call the Window Doctor and have them come and fix it and I would have to pay for it.  Well I don’t want the worry about Juan having to do all the appointments and arranging so I decided to call the Window Doctor and see if I can get it done before we leave and found them very helpful.  They will be here on Thursday with all the materials they need to fix it.  I don’t know how much it will cost but best guess is about $200 and that is worth it if I have one less things to think about when I am in Wenatchee.

Now it is time to just sit and rest and collect my thoughts again to be sure I have all my ducks in a row.  Tomorrow they came to inspect the car.  I’ll be glad when I return that to the dealership.   They are going to get it no matter what- if they don’t like it I will just leave it there and tell them what they can do with their dam car.  If they get here on time I will go to the bank and see if there is an advisor free to see me about the Estate Papers signed I got yesterday.  If there isn’t Ill make an appointment for Thursday morning or Friday morning as the window doctor is coming Thursday afternoon.  That should be the last trip the bank I need to make.  I will be doing all my banking on line as there is not a Bank of America in Wenatchee or even on that side of the mountain.  The nearest one is a couple hours away.  It is a good size city but no Bank of America and for 9 months I am not going through all the basel of changing banks.   I do want all these little thing done before we go to Shirley’s so I can just relax and enjoy my last visit.  That lays out the week – avery busy one but it is going along pretty good.  Have a great day.

About Carol (Ouma) Petts

I am a retired teacher. I have taught all levels from kindergarten through college and have been retired now for over 20 years. The last ten years we have lived on a farm and lived off the land, growing our own food and canning for our extended family. Now we have sold the farm and are moving to Florida to truly retire. I guess I have always had a short attention span as this is our 11th move. We have moved from a small farm in New Hampshire, to more city type living, small business adventures, focusing more on traveling, Florida living, Georgia, and Tennessee farming and now back to Florida. My blog is a way to keep my children up to date on what I am doing and letting them know I am still alive and well. My children are spread across the country from New England to Florida, Nova Scotia to New Mexico and CA and several places between, They let me know what they are up to by commenting on my blog but they are so busy with their own lives most times I have to assume " no news is good news". Now I are starting on a new adventure so will try to give daily updates until we get settled into a routine. Then I know even if I am getting older and should settle down I will start looking for some new and exciting adventure to start. Welcome aboard. Norman died Oct 30, 2017 so I am continuing the journey alone with the aid of my children, grand children and great grand children. At present I am living with my daughter and we are 7 in one house and cover four generations. We range in age from 7 to 85 and are finding common ground, we are living proof that multi generations can live and function in a three bedroom house if they really want to. Soon my grandson will have his house built next door so we all will have a room of their own except for the seven year old twins who by choice will share a room.
