A week ago I ran out of fiberfil. I was going to get it at Walmart where I could get a big 3 pound bag but knew I would be needing at least two of them and where to store them as I used them was the big question. Since I was not planning a trip to Walmart (all of a two mile trip) so I looked on Amazon and found I could get a ten pound box of it for less than the same thing at Walmart and it would be delivered right to my door, so of course I ordered it. When I went to check out I was given the choice of getting it free shipping in two days or wait, get it in 5 to 6 days and get a prime pantry box shipped free, saving me $5.99. So of course being an old Yankee I got the savings on the prime pantry. Then Patty and I sat and picked out all the things Patty and her family wanted from Prime Pantry. She knows what the kids like and will eat so we picked everything they liked and was good for them. The next day Patty took the family to Jacksonville Beach for a week’s vacation so I left the things we had picked out in my cart on Amazon. Then on Thursday I put in the order and it said it would be delivered Thursday which is what Patty wanted so the kids would be home when the package came. But Saturday I got a notice that the box would come on Sunday and the kids would be with their Dad until Tuesday. Patty will have to hold the box until the kids get back Monday night so they can all be there to open it together. They will love that, it is a very large box full of fun things to eat. And yesterday my fiberfil arrived here. I have been working on my dolls and animals all week so had quite a few pieces I needed to stuff and put together so I have been having a ball getting them all stuffed. I finished the Three Little Pigs.
Now all I need is the wolf for that story. I have a pattern for him and will knit him this week. I also stuffed and dressed my boys for the Polka Dots and the Swagman story.
The first one is Tom Polka, who tells the story. Next is his cousin Paul Polka and next his cousin Ken Polka. Tom is one of six children and his father never remembers their names so he calls them the Polka Dot kids. Tom hates that name but finds he is stuck with it. The last boy is Duck, a native to the outback. and in the corner is the Chinese Shop Keeper who gives Tom the cursed opal that leads to their whole adventure. I still have to make hair for the boys and then I will be done with them. I need about five more animals for this story, then Patty can take the box of dolls and animals and read the story a chapter each night to the kids. The book has 12 chapters but each chapter is short so she will have time to read a chapter and talk about it each night before bed. When I get the finished I will send a picture of each one,
This week there is no school as the kids are on summer vacation now but there is also no summer school or summer camp this week either so Becca has to take time off of work to take care of the kids. I think she pans to bring the kids over one day this week for a story hour so they can see my animals. I have not had all three kids here at once for over two years so we will see how that goes. My house is not set up for kids so wish me luck. Today’s kids are not afraid for adults like they were in my day so if they start running wild I just have to push them out the door and ask Becca to take them home. I am too old to try and tie down three little ones. I will meet them at the gate when they come and lay down the rules of my house before they come in and see if that helps. I’ll also have a party for them and see if that makes it interesting enough to keep them calm.
Time to get back to work and finish stuffing the bird I made this week. Have a great day.
Like the pigs Carol. Did you get the article I sent you on the store in Harrisville? Looks interesting and I hope to get over for a lunch this summer.
We are going up to Maine this Sunday for a week. Will attend a session of what is the Maine Opera. Classes for 5 days, this year La Traviata. Did I spell it correctly? Too lazy to look it up. Peter has been attending these for about 13 years. Only my 3rd year. I really go for the good food and the ocean close by. Nice vacation.
Stay well…….Love Always, Nancy
