Yesterday I got a new recipe for strawberry jam and tried it out. It came out very good. I gave Patty one jar and put 7 jars on the shelf. There is always some left over to that is on the table to eat now. I also froze 6 quarts of broccoli. This morning I got to work as soon as I got up at 6 am and got dinner prepared. I had chicken roll ups stuffed with asparagus and cheese. I got four rollups done and the mixed vegetables steamed and put those in the refrigerator ready to cook for dinner. Then I peeled and sliced three great big parsnips and put those in the freezer, then began hulling and slicing strawberries. I did half of the flat – 6 heaping pints. Then after breakfast Norman got the jars ready and I made the strawberry jam. We had planned to do the second half after lunch but we got that part done by 10 am so decided to do the second half right away so we would have the afternoon free to rest. I put the chicken in the oven and we got the jam finished by noon in time to fry the mixed vegetables and have dinner by 12:15. We got 21 jelly jars, 2 pints, and 5 half jelly jars full of strawberry jam and one half pint left to eat right away. Now tomorrow we need to make the spaghetti sauce.
