Company Coming!!

I love to cook and I love to have company so today I am doubly blessed again.  Patty went camping this last week and she brought me back some Key Limes.  Chris takes the kids on the week end because he is not working then so that means Becca is alone on the week ends, she usually works on Sunday so I invited Patty and Becca over for dinner today and have some Key Lime pie.  Jen comes Saturdays to visit with Becca so I invited her also.  Jen is always fun to have for a visit.  I got the pulled pork cooked yesterday so today all I have to do is heat it up in the sauce and brown the rolls, I made the brown and serve rolls last week.  Here is the pie.Photo on 10-3-15 at 8.59 AM #2

I made this this morning.  Patty does not eat any wheat so does not eat the crust of a pie so I made the small one with no crust just for her.  After all she brought me the limes.  Photo on 10-3-15 at 8.59 AM

The table is set, the vegetables are in the little crock pots so all I have to do now is fry the potato chips and heat the pulled pork and I have an hour and a half to do that so I will be knitting when they get here.  I like to do as much ahead of time as I can so I am well rested and relaxed when my company comes so I can just visit and enjoy them.  It will be a wonderful day.  I do have a very small house so about three guests is a full house so when we have the Christmas Eve family gathering we have to have it at Patty’s house, this year she house is pretty full also but at least most of the family is living with her already so we won’t be adding many more and she says everyone will fit just fine.

I got some great comments from family this week and am inspired to add a couple new pages to my blog.  I have some pictures that Carl sent to me several years ago and I’ll add those to the “memories from Carl” and I’ll ask him this week if he has some other memories I can add to his page.  Also I will make a page for “Memories from Nancy” and ask her to send more to me.  So tomorrow I will work on these pages so don’t forget to check those out later in the week and if you have any good memories send them to me and I’ll add them to the pages.  I will only print good memories- As we get older we have so many loving memories of the growing up years and hopefully all the bad memories have long past been buried so only good memories, Please.  Have a great day

About Carol (Ouma) Petts

I am a retired teacher. I have taught all levels from kindergarten through college and have been retired now for over 20 years. The last ten years we have lived on a farm and lived off the land, growing our own food and canning for our extended family. Now we have sold the farm and are moving to Florida to truly retire. I guess I have always had a short attention span as this is our 11th move. We have moved from a small farm in New Hampshire, to more city type living, small business adventures, focusing more on traveling, Florida living, Georgia, and Tennessee farming and now back to Florida. My blog is a way to keep my children up to date on what I am doing and letting them know I am still alive and well. My children are spread across the country from New England to Florida, Nova Scotia to New Mexico and CA and several places between, They let me know what they are up to by commenting on my blog but they are so busy with their own lives most times I have to assume " no news is good news". Now I are starting on a new adventure so will try to give daily updates until we get settled into a routine. Then I know even if I am getting older and should settle down I will start looking for some new and exciting adventure to start. Welcome aboard. Norman died Oct 30, 2017 so I am continuing the journey alone with the aid of my children, grand children and great grand children. At present I am living with my daughter and we are 7 in one house and cover four generations. We range in age from 7 to 85 and are finding common ground, we are living proof that multi generations can live and function in a three bedroom house if they really want to. Soon my grandson will have his house built next door so we all will have a room of their own except for the seven year old twins who by choice will share a room.
