Wonderful Times

Our family from New Mexico came to Florida for a weeks vacation and we all had a wonderful time.  They arrived last Sunday and Monday we had open house so everyone could come and enjoy the visit. Photo on 2-26-15 at 6.27 PM #4 Photo on 2-26-15 at 6.28 PM Photo on 2-26-15 at 6.28 PM #2

This is Prem, the new baby and the one that stole everyones heart.  She is such a good baby.  They went to Disney for Tuesday and Wednesday and came back to Port St Lucie on Thursday.  Poor Prem came back with a very sore diaper rash and that was the only time I ever heard her cry and then only when you touched her rash.  This was taken after the trip.  She was this happy all the time.  The book she is looking at is one that her Aunt Shirley made for her and she loved it. Photo on 2-26-15 at 6.33 PM #2

This is Dyhana and Regina.  This was the first time the cousins had met and as Dyhana said ” I think we are now best friends!” They spent every minute together playing and the only tears that were shed were when they had to say good-bye on Thursday night.  They didn’t understand why they could not stay together for weeks.  Photo on 2-26-15 at 6.30 PM

This is Regina, her grand mother ,Patty and Dyhana’s grand mother Shanti.  The two sisters spent all the time they could together talking and catching up on the changes of the last three years since they had seen each other.  Over in the corner, getting into the picture is Dyhana’s daddy.  He spent all of Monday talking with his cousin, Tom who came to the open house to see him.  The last time they had seen each other was over 20 years ago so they had a lot of catching up to do.  Photo on 2-26-15 at 6.29 PM #2

This is Bhai Daya, Dyhana’s daddy.  He is my grandson and we are very proud of him, he is such a wonderful young man and a super Dad!  Photo on 2-26-15 at 6.33 PM #3

And last but by no means least is Tyaga, my son-in-law, Shanti’s husband.  That is Shanti in the back ground.  He is 6 foot 8 and she is 5 foot 1 and just made for each other.  Today is our 64th wedding anniversary and they celebrate their 40th so you see we both picked very good men.

Now it is the last week to get things together and ready to go home.  We leave for Spencer next weekend.  We hate saying good bye to very one her but can’t wait to see Joe and his family the next week.  Have a great day and be as happy as I am right now.

About Carol (Ouma) Petts

I am a retired teacher. I have taught all levels from kindergarten through college and have been retired now for over 20 years. The last ten years we have lived on a farm and lived off the land, growing our own food and canning for our extended family. Now we have sold the farm and are moving to Florida to truly retire. I guess I have always had a short attention span as this is our 11th move. We have moved from a small farm in New Hampshire, to more city type living, small business adventures, focusing more on traveling, Florida living, Georgia, and Tennessee farming and now back to Florida. My blog is a way to keep my children up to date on what I am doing and letting them know I am still alive and well. My children are spread across the country from New England to Florida, Nova Scotia to New Mexico and CA and several places between, They let me know what they are up to by commenting on my blog but they are so busy with their own lives most times I have to assume " no news is good news". Now I are starting on a new adventure so will try to give daily updates until we get settled into a routine. Then I know even if I am getting older and should settle down I will start looking for some new and exciting adventure to start. Welcome aboard. Norman died Oct 30, 2017 so I am continuing the journey alone with the aid of my children, grand children and great grand children. At present I am living with my daughter and we are 7 in one house and cover four generations. We range in age from 7 to 85 and are finding common ground, we are living proof that multi generations can live and function in a three bedroom house if they really want to. Soon my grandson will have his house built next door so we all will have a room of their own except for the seven year old twins who by choice will share a room.

It was so wonderful seeing you. I really enjoyed spending time with Patty, and wished I had more. It was a joy to see Dhyana and Regina together… They got along so well and I think it is a friendship that will last a lifetime.
I missed having quiet time with you and Dad, but we will catch that up this fall in TN. Happy Anniversary and enjoy your day. Thank you for once again for a great visit!

Wonderful pictures and family!!!! Do you have more…..of the little girl’s mothers for example? Amazing to see Patty and Becky. How time has flown. I remember them in your Harrisville years, so long ago. Baby is precious……I want to hold her!!!!
    Love, Nancy
