Another cold start, 24 degrees but at least the sun is shining this morning. Yesterday it was cloudy all day and the high for the day was late in the day when the sun come out for a few minutes, we hit 34 degrees. Today they say we will get up into the high 40’s. I sure hope so. We went to McMinnville yesterday and got new burn barrel. One of our old ones has burnt through so the bottom is completely off. We also went to Food Land and got the meat for the week. I had a few days left here in the freezer so now we don’t need to go into town again until the 21st when the milk goes out of date. I hope we can just stay here and work in the gardens if the weather will cooperate. Oh, I also so some onion sets, the small plants this year instead of the bulbs they looked so good and the price was right. I got a bunch of sweet Texas onions which are white and a bunch of sweet Georgia onions which are yellow and there are over 100 onions in each bunch. Most of these will be used as green onions. I just finished the green onions that Patty gave me from her hydoponic garden and they are so good I can’t wait for mine to get going. Now we will have garlic, red onions, shalotts, yellow and white onions in the garden. That should keeps us all in onions this summer, I will need more this year as Joe and Holly will be close enough to get fresh vegetable from our gardens too as well as some canned things also. Norman is out for his walk and right after breakfast we will get started on the gardens, hope it will have warmed up some! Have a great day.
