I cooked all day. I had tomatoes that needed to be taken care of or I would lose them but not enough to can so I made a large tomato sauce for dinner along with the green peppers from the garden and two onions and some chicken. Then I cooked up all the small butternut squashes. I got enough for four or five meals and I fried up a large batch of green tomatoes. I now have enough vegetable to last through the week end. I got a three dish crock pot two weeks ago and I love it. Now I can take three of these extra vegetable and just put them in the crock pots and not have to rush about cooking them each day. I also have some green beans and will get more tomorrow. There is not enough to bother canning and we really don’t need more cans so we will have lots of vegetables each day for dinner. Norman took down three more tomato rows and put the poles up for next year. Still had four rows to go but will let some of those tomatoes ripen as they are still going well. Tomorrow I need to burn again, there is quite a pile of brush to burn and the old dead tomato plants. We like to burn the old plants and not compost them as composting does not kill the bugs and eggs and burning does. Have a great day.
