Web’s diaries are very hard to read for several reasons. One is that he wrote in pencil, he had no sharpener except a knife and he had no eraser. Also these diaries were writen over a hundred years ago and time fades an all ready light work and my eyes are almost 80 years old so are not the sharpest. Also Web could not spell any better than I can and many of his letters are formed funny so I can not tell the difference between a b or a d or R, K, B all look the same. He does not use a period at the end of a sentence and he does not know where to put an upper case letter so it makes it hard sometimes to decide what he is saying. Also, he is writing this for himself not every dreaming someone else would try to read them over a hundred years later but I am very thankful he wrote them. It lets me look into a way of life I could never have found out about any other way. I hope this picture of his diary clears up enought for you to read. If it doesn’t I will try to do just one day so you can see his writing.
I hope this is better, if not I have no idea how to show you what I am up against. Have a great day.
