April 1, 1907  Mon.  Cloudy   Snow most all day    wash day to day   got done by 9 oc   Hens lay good

April 2   Tues.  Plesant   dora is Ironing   Snow most all gone    I done a few chores   Boys done thares   Ernest in store   Hens lay good

April 3  Wed.  Plesant  been over to the store first time for a week    roads are muddy bad going   wind is in the north  cold

April 4   Thurs.  Plesant   all well and they say doing well   snow most all gone   Sap runs well   roads are drying up

April 5  Fri.  Cloudy    Cold wind    fire feels good   Hen set to day 11 eggs   little Black Hen    Moving beds up stairs    Cleaning House

April 6  Sat.  Plesant   Cold    the Boys   my self went up to George Davis see his Hens   got good ones    2 flock wild geese at night

April 7  Sun.  Cloudy   Boys went to Sunday School   Ernest & Dora gone for a walk –  Set Hen on 13 eggs

April 8  Mon.  Stormy  10 inches snow   We wash    hung out the cloths  had to take them in most as quick as we put them out    it a big snow storm    Mrs Kennedy Died at noon

April 9  Tues.   Stormey Day  Bad day to be out   Snowed hard to night  12 inche to day   more snow then had been this winter

I lived in Harrisivlle for 28 years and I know when it decides to snow it really snows.   Some years you only get a dusting but the late in the year snow storm can dump snow like this.  This was taken at the house near the train tracks in front of the house that Herman and Emma later lived in.

April 10  Wed.  Cloudy   it snows a little by spels all day but warmer   Sleigh are on the Road   good sleighing   more snow then ever before this winter.

April 11  Thurs.  Plesant   Took in the cloth hung out  Monday   Dora went to a Sleigh ride to day   good Sleighing

April 12   Fri.  Plesant   Shovled snow off wood and put some into shed   Snow going fast

April 13   Sat.  Cloudy  Snow did not melt but a very little   sleighting is good  plenty snow on the ground

April 14   Sun.  Boys went to Sunday School   no meetings   blue  Sunday   good sap day

April 15  Mon.  Plesant   Boys comenced going to school   good sap day   filling shed with wood   set Hen 13 eggs

April 16  Tues.  Plesant   good sap day   Frank Sawyer Rep roof windows   I worked on wood   Hen Hatched chickens

April 17   Cloudy   good sap day   worked on wood Pile  puting it into shed   Set Hen on 13 eggs  got 5 chicks  poor show

April 18  Thurs.  Plesant   Cold about as cold as winter   worked on the wood Pile   dora cleaned my room

April 19  Fri.  Cloudy & snow   got a little wood in to the shed   snow melt as fast as it comes   Boys going to school   Tim Sorthard Daughter Keeping uper School

April 20  Sar.  Plesant  but cold  ice is all in the Pond yet and is going to stay   Dog bit Guy on the arm   hope it will do him no harm   we take care of it   it is sore

April 21  Sun.  Cold but Plesant   Boys went to Sunday School   the rest stayed at Home

April 22  Mon.  Plesant   wash day   big one   worked on wood pile    roads are drying up without rain   looks like a dry season

April 23  Tues.  Cloudy  worked on wood   it was plesant in the morning   a little shower PM   Dora went out for a walk   Boys at school

April 24   Wed.  Cloudy   rained a little this morning   wind in the North to night little cooler

April 25  Thurs.  Cloudy   not doing very much   Dora moved her Bed up into the front Chamber   looks very well    hope it will suit her   I guess it will

April 26  Fri.  Cloudy   it looks as though it would rain  got in some wood into shed   Black hen hatching her chicks

April 27   Went up to Carroll Loging Camp with him   had dinner at the Camp good one to   he is doing good work now

April 28  Sun.  Cloudy   Ernest went with Mr Farwell to ride   Boys went to Sunday School   First meal in the dining room

April 29  Mon.  Cloudy  wash day  big one    not but a little rain   Boys go to School   Hen off with 6 chicks

April 30  Tues.  Plesant   worked on wood pile   filled the shed up  still plenty more to pile up

I am a retired teacher. I have taught all levels from kindergarten through college and have been retired now for over 20 years. The last ten years we have lived on a farm and lived off the land, growing our own food and canning for our extended family. Now we have sold the farm and are moving to Florida to truly retire. I guess I have always had a short attention span as this is our 11th move. We have moved from a small farm in New Hampshire, to more city type living, small business adventures, focusing more on traveling, Florida living, Georgia, and Tennessee farming and now back to Florida. My blog is a way to keep my children up to date on what I am doing and letting them know I am still alive and well. My children are spread across the country from New England to Florida, Nova Scotia to New Mexico and CA and several places between, They let me know what they are up to by commenting on my blog but they are so busy with their own lives most times I have to assume " no news is good news". Now I are starting on a new adventure so will try to give daily updates until we get settled into a routine. Then I know even if I am getting older and should settle down I will start looking for some new and exciting adventure to start. Welcome aboard. Norman died Oct 30, 2017 so I am continuing the journey alone with the aid of my children, grand children and great grand children. At present I am living with my daughter and we are 7 in one house and cover four generations. We range in age from 7 to 85 and are finding common ground, we are living proof that multi generations can live and function in a three bedroom house if they really want to. Soon my grandson will have his house built next door so we all will have a room of their own except for the seven year old twins who by choice will share a room.
