A New Year With New Hope

Jan. 1, 1907 Tues.    Plesant   Happy New Year   Ernest got back from Haverhill last night    I been sawing wood to day   Dora gone out for a sleigh ride    no school to day

Jan. 2  Wed.  Plesant   All well   Boys at school   I am sawing wood    Dora wash day to day    it is Ice in the Roads   not much snow   good sleighing

Jan. 3   Thurs.   cloudy   all well   Boys at School   it look like a rain storm  very quiet   no one at work around here   Some a loging way back

Jan. 4  Fri.   Cloudy & Fogy   all well  Boys at Sachool   it rained some to day   and very fogy   Dora done her Ironing to day    got 2 eggs big thing   old rooster crowed once then layed an egg

Jan. 5  Sat.  Plesant   all well   Dora went to Keene to day with Mr Carrel & wife   Started 5 minutes to one oclock   15 miles to K   good Horse to go    got rack at 70 c   went on cars part way

Jan. 6   Sun.   Plesant   Ernest  Dora & Boys gone to church    I stay at Home with Angie- bleu day for me

Jan. 7  Mon.  Cloudy  Dora washed the rest of the crowd    helped a little   Mr Carrell had a bery sick Horse last Night he still lives but had a hard row to live up all Night with him

Jan. 8  Tues.   Cloudy  with rain the stage went out on wheels first time for one month    finished Sawing up the wood to day in the yard    Boys going to School

Jan. 9  Wed.   Cold & windy not much moving on wheels to day  if you do the hind part of your wagon will be forward    I have writen to Marlin to day

Jan. 10 Thurs.  Cloudy   Wind blows cold from the south   I went up to Carrols Loging Camp with him    he is doing good business working 20 men    went up with sliegh

Jan. 11   Plesant   cold south wind    it is slipery   Mascurade Ball to Night at Wins Hall and are all well  most all going to Dance

Jan. 12  Sat.  Snow   Snow all day    Shal have sleighing if it does not set in and rain    this is a lonley day for me   I can stand a spell

Jan. 13   Sun.  Cloudy   Boys went to sunday school   Boys & my self went to Church   the rest of the family stayed at Home

Jan. 14  Mon.  Cloudy   cloudy & snow   Boys at school   I have sawed a little wood   we are all most out of wood    have a lot of slab wood that poor wood    Dog killed  one of the Hens

Jan. 15   Tues.  Cloudy   cold south wind   Boys at School   I am not doing much   been over to store to day  Mr Farwell gone to Keene

Jan. 16  Wed.  cold  Cold wind from the North     had a load wood come to day  all sawed 3 times open  bery good wood   I have been spliting and puting it into shed  Mr Farwell lost a hog  it choked

Jan. 17  Thur.  Cold & Cloudy with snow   finished Spliting wood   got it all into the shed   looks like more Snow

Jan. 18  Fri.  Cold & Cloudy   not doing very much to day   mended the close hooke and fed the chicks   got 3 eggs  9 hens

Jan. 19  Sat.  Snow & Rain   a very dull day   no School to day so thare is nois a plenty at Home with the Girls in the other part and our boy

Jan. 20  Sun.  Cloudy & warm   Boys went to Sunday School   no meeting to day   all stayed at Home. blue day for me

Jan. 21  Mon.  Cold   Cold & windy   washed to day    Dora & Angie went to bed and had a nap   I got in the clothes

Jan. 22  Tues.  Snow   make good sleighing   Boys go to School   Hens did not lay to day   Dora ironed to day   it is a lonley day

Jan. 23  Wed.  Cold  12 below zero   Boys go to School   the rest keep close to the stove   Ernest in the store   3 eggs to day

Jan. 24   Thurs. Cold 20 below zero   it is a cold day   Plesant good slieghing   did not do much to day   Boys go to school   E C to work   takes the wood to runn fires  made a letter from Ira

Jan. 25  Fri.  Col   Hauled 3 loads wood   I have split about half of it    it snows a little this morning   Boys at school

Jan. 26  Sat.  Cold  but Plesant   I been spliting wood and rep 8 windows   good sleighing   Mr Carroll got back from Boston with 6 work men

Jan. 27  Sun.  Plesant & Cold   Ernest  the Boys & Web went to church   Boys went to Sunday School

Jan. 28   Mon.  Plesant * Cold   washed to day    I split wood   Boys go to school   dora does the work    Ernest works in store   Mr Carroll has 2 sick Horses

Jan. 29  Tues.  Plesant & Cold   I am at work at the wood Pile   Boys at school   Ernest at his work    dora the same   Mr Carroll very sick   the other one better

Jan. 30   Wed.  Plesant * cold   fished my wood Pile   I am not sorry   sora & Angie went out to Keene   Boys at school

Jan. 31  Cloudy   Pump broke last Night  geting it Rep to day   it look like a storm   Boys at school   we are all very well   David Hill got his job done at church

I am a retired teacher. I have taught all levels from kindergarten through college and have been retired now for over 20 years. The last ten years we have lived on a farm and lived off the land, growing our own food and canning for our extended family. Now we have sold the farm and are moving to Florida to truly retire. I guess I have always had a short attention span as this is our 11th move. We have moved from a small farm in New Hampshire, to more city type living, small business adventures, focusing more on traveling, Florida living, Georgia, and Tennessee farming and now back to Florida. My blog is a way to keep my children up to date on what I am doing and letting them know I am still alive and well. My children are spread across the country from New England to Florida, Nova Scotia to New Mexico and CA and several places between, They let me know what they are up to by commenting on my blog but they are so busy with their own lives most times I have to assume " no news is good news". Now I are starting on a new adventure so will try to give daily updates until we get settled into a routine. Then I know even if I am getting older and should settle down I will start looking for some new and exciting adventure to start. Welcome aboard. Norman died Oct 30, 2017 so I am continuing the journey alone with the aid of my children, grand children and great grand children. At present I am living with my daughter and we are 7 in one house and cover four generations. We range in age from 7 to 85 and are finding common ground, we are living proof that multi generations can live and function in a three bedroom house if they really want to. Soon my grandson will have his house built next door so we all will have a room of their own except for the seven year old twins who by choice will share a room.
