I started the day by picking the beans, it took two hours to get them all. I also started the burn barrel. When the ashes are hot all it takes is a few leaves to get it burning again so I kept that going while I picked beans. When Norman got home from his walk he made breakfast and after that we both worked at the beans and burning and got a load of mustard greens on to dry. Then we cut the beans and by 11 we got the first load on to can . After dinner we put on the second load. By 3 o’clock we had done 12 quarts of green beans and a load of dried mustard greens. We got a nice shower this afternoon so we will not have to water this week. Tomorrow is Sunday and we get to rest some. Norman does the house cleaning and I write the letters. It will be great to just take it easy tomorrow. Have a great day.
