April 1, Sat.  Cold  Ernest worked in the sotre making ready to open soon.  All going to the show to night.  The New York World came for the first time     show very good.

April 2  Sun.  Pleasent & cold   All stayed at home   all very well  hope we may stay so.

April 3  Mon.  Plesant but colol  Ernest went out to Mesltons   got some Potaoes    Dora cleaned Bedroom    it was a store room but it does not like like one now   done a good job.

April 4   Tues. Pleasant & cold  Ernest went to Pikes this morning   Ned Nois is setting glass in show cases    Jim & Sarah Eastman called on us to day    going is getting good    I have got a cold.

April 5.  Wed.  Cloudy   ernest is working in the store to dau   I am lame to day and it pains me to in my rist    I am sober to day  be better to morrow  I hope.  ( sober means not happy, he was never a drinker of any kind.)

April 6  Thurs.  Rainey   showers most all day   Milton pedling maple honey    Ernest went to Woodsville.   Mrs Mason made us a call

April 7  Fri.  Pleasamt & cold   Ernes went to Pikes   Dora Cleaned my room to day    I helped a little   not much

April 8  Sat  Snow & cold  I went down to Moses.  Chet Carleton & Mat ware thare going over to there Place in a day or two.  Mose got 8 good caws    look well   got 3 shirats  old sow, 4 calves    nice ones   Sap runn a little

April 9  Sun.  Pleasant  All stayed at home   Mr Lameb  came up from Pikes to see the store   said it is a good one to do Business in   Mud is drying up.

April 10  Mon.  Rain   Auther Irvin is harling out manure for ernest    Dora cleaned the Boys Bed room with my help    that was not much   spring day

April 11  Tues.  Rainey   Arthur finished Hauling manure at 2 1/2 oclock    commenced cleaning front toom    Maurice Young here     going to stay all night   Milton Pedling Honey    opened store to day

April 12   Wed.  Pleasant   Dora & Web put down front room carpet.  Dora went out to her Fathers took Angie with her    took Maurice home    Ernest Clerks came to day    his name is  _ Lamb   good Boy I guess    Auther Irvin hauling saw dust for Ice House.

April 13  Thurs.  Pleasant  Aurther Irvin is Braking up for Ernest.  I took C.M. Carleton over to his Place    Mat & Mary went over together    they will stay alone to night   Mary came home with her team  behind my team    got home all right    Ernest had Car load feed come to day.

April 14  /fri  Pleasant   dora cleaned her Bed room to day   I done a very small part of the work.  Ernest is un loading a Carr of feed    Arthur Irvin Team in the fore noon with Man   I am some Lame to day.

April 15  Sat  Pleasant  S.S. Bartlet  call to see me today from Warren   Trade very good. Ice went out of the pond to day    Roads geting very good.  alma Clarke here to day

April 16  Sun. Cloudy & cool    All stayed home     had Chicken pie for supper    good one   Lue Hurlbert shot his Dog to day   thought he was going mad.

April 17  Mon. Stormy & cold  Snow  2 inches  on the ground and it was snowing most all day.  Trade very good   I sewed grass seed on burnt spots in Mrs. Madcalf field  and scratch them in.  ( A spring snow is called the poor man’s fertilizer so sewing seeds when you get a spring snow does grow best)

April 18  Tues.  Cold   Ground white with snow    Ira down from Woodsville    going home to his Fathers to night    going with Prince.

April 19   Wed.  Cold   dora is making a rapper  it sets good   it is the first one .  Kids is wheeling to wood.  I am not feeling first rate.

April 20  Thurs.  Cloudy   Looks like rain   Phebe Wright ware here all day    Trade very good to day   traders from Benton & Swift Water

April 21  Fri.  Rainy day  All very quiet to day   not but little trade

April 22  Sat.  Pleasant  Trade very good to day   Mr Bowman was here to day   I went down to Mass to see his sick cow   He put 2 qt oil  4 pbs salts into her  just came through    Angie L Thayer 3 years old went to Dr Lawrence   Girl Birth day Party   17 little were there.

April 23  Sun.  Pleasant & cold   Ernest & baby & Web went up to the cemetry   & went up to Irvins     Mr  Pike been here to day

April 24  Mon.   Cloudy & cold   Went up and took a look at Hertham Irsens stock  to day   looks very well   he has got to buy Hay.  It looks very much like a storm    the wind blows from the south     Jim & Sarah Eastman up to day

April 25  Tues.   Pleasant & cold    Ernest took a trip over Briar Hill to day   What he could do if it would pay to runn  a wagon      Plowed his garden today    Auldin Herlburt helped him.

April  26  Wed.  Warm   Trade very good   Ira down from Woodsville    grass begins to look green    Ernest commence on his garding   Mame Eastman got home from the south

April 27   Thurs.  Pleasant  Alice Town here to day   Mr  Hovy was here to dinner to day     he was going down to Grafton to work in Creamery   Mrs.  Thayer out to day    trader Bill Burnam out traded    trade very good

April 28    Fri  Warm   dor went to Woodsville   Bought her a Hat  paid $4.00 for it  nice one   Ernest took good to Briar Hill   fill  his orders.  Trade good   Ernest went to Woodsvill to Woster Salt supper

April 29  Sat.  Cloudy  It looks like rain    hope we shall get it  very thing needed

April 30  Sun.  Pleasant   Ernes & Guy & Herman gone to swiftwater     Earle & Mira Clark come here to day her at supper      this is the last day April  hop  May will set in brisk and warm
