The recession continues and life gets harder for the family.

Feb.1, 1905  Wed.   Cold  Hattie had bad night  but a little   better to day    good sleding   Trade dull not much doing   Saw Frank & Iaba Carr to day.  They are ganing in health but sore.

Feb. 2  Thurs.  Cold  I took Aurther David up to George Nelsons to day  Charles Newell & Ira Thayer are taking the inventory in Ernest Thayer store   it will take them Tomorrow to finish  taking.   Hattie is better to night  hope she will remain doing so   The Dr says she may eat an apple tomorrow.

Feb. 3  Fri.  Cold  I went up to Irvin Thayers    got the Boys   They been up thare 8 days.  got the inventory all taken.  Ira gone to Woodsville.  Hattie is some better to night   Dora is here with her    taking care of her.

Feb. 4  Sat.   Cold   Hattie not so well to day    all quiet around the store today.

Feb. 5  Sun.  Cold  Mrs Thayer  came back to day   Hattie had a sleep    made her feel rested  and it makes me feel rested for her.  I hope the Lord will spare her for her childrens Sake and my Self included.

Feb. 6  Mon.  Snow  Water stoped on the Main Pipe   think it is on the Bridge for it runs on the other side of the Bridge yet.   Hattie about the same.  Dora gone back to Lisbon.

Feb. 7  Tues.  Cold   Water stoped at 15 homes this side of the Bridge on the Main line.   Hattie is a little better.  Ira is down from Woodsville   gone back on the 7:00

Feb. 8  Wed.  Pleasant & cold    Hattie is gaining a little but slow.  Ernest & my self went over to the new saw mill   I think things have not got Power enough to runn it up in good shape.

Feb. 9   Thurs  Cloudy   Hattie not so well to day.  Mr Thayer come out to day.  Mrs. Thayer not going home with him.

Feb. 10  Fri.   Cloudy   Mary Barton,  Hatties sister come from New Port to stay    Hattie a  little  better to day.  Ira down from Woodsville    Winter School closes today.

Feb. 11.  Sat.  Pleasant   Hattie not so well to day.  Councel of Docs here now.  Milton, her Father & Earl are here.  We do not think she can live but I hope the good Lord will Spare her for she is needed here a little longer.

Feb. 12  Sun.  bad day to be out   snow   Hattie died this morning 20 minutes before 4 o’clock    her breath left her with out a strugle   She went to sleep in the arms of her savior.  Irvin & Delia thare   mother Thayer, Hattie Nelson, Dora, Ernest & myself & Ira was the witnesses    it was sad for us all.

Feb. 13  Mon.  Snow  Mr Carpenter from Welsriver to place Hattie in the Casket.  Milton & Molten went over to Newbury to get them some cloths,  they got some    Delia been there all day helping do the work.

Feb. 14  Tues.  Pleasant  Sad day   Hattie was layed at rest to day at 11 Oc.  Eld  Dinsmore Preached her sermon.  Barriers was John Heath, Will Upton, Authur Kimball, Carl Meader.  The Rebeakers went through with thare work. Kings Daughter done thare part    had nice flowers.  Mr Carpenter Welsriver  manager.

Feb. 15  Wed.  Pleasant  Ernest, Dora and Web went up to Cemetary to day.  Mamie gone home to New Port to day her Father took her to Newbury.  Grammie Wright came from Warren to day.  Boys went over to Albert Kimballs at dinner.

Feb. 16  Thurs  Pleasant  Mrs. Thayer out to day   took Grace along with her   she went back but left Grace .  Ira gone to Woodsville.  Cold night last night.

Feb. 17  Fri.  cloudy  Ora Thayer brought Ernest a load of Hay   weight  2105 lb.  Ernest went up to N.C. Wrights.  Cut up a pig for him.  Ira & Hattie Nelson gone to the Centre to a rehersal-  looks like  a storm.  Gracie thayer gone back to Lynn to day.

Feb. 18  Sat.  Pleasant  Hattie Nelson finished work with Ernest to night.  I been over to Jessie McConnell to day.  This is a lonley house to night but I hope it will be on the bright side soon.  We will all do our best for to make it so.

Feb. 19  Sun.  Cold & Pleasant  Earl & Mira ware here at dinner.  ira was here   Angie Lydia Thayer is a good Girl   the boys are too.

Feb. 20  Mon. Pleasant  Ernest went down to see Mr Pike about his store to sell him the goods that he has in the store.  Dora & Uncle Web kept the house and it was well kept to.  Ella Manson called on us.  Frank Hurlburt got home from Reform school.

Feb. 21  Tues.  Pleasant  Mr Pike & Pogers at the store this morning.  Ernest took Grammie Wright up to Woodsville to put writings on Record    he went on business for himself.  Moses sawed Kimballs wood for him to day.

Feb. 22  Wed.  Cloudy  Ernest & Dora & baby gone out to Miltons.  I went over to the corner store for the first time.  It is lonely here to day   no  trade in the store   every thing is still.

Feb. 23  Thurs.  Pleasant  dora went up to Lisbon to day  got her things  she left thare when she was at work thare.   Good deal of Hay moving on the roads.

Feb . 14  Fri  Pleasant  Ira got old Prince Horse to go home to Swiftwater to Grange Fare at Swift.  Arthur & Irvin killed 4 hogs  weight 957 lbs            sent $1.00 for Hartford Time.  Mr Bowman was here to night.

Feb. 25  Sat.  Pleasant  Angie Lydia Thayer a good Girl.  It looks like Spring   Sleding is going fast.  Dora had lots of work to do to day.  I helped her what I could.

Feb. 26  Sun  Cloudy  Ernest went out to his Fathers home to day   The rest of us stayed at home    snow is going     enough snow above and below us

Feb. 27  Mon  Pleasant  Nothing new to day    every thing quiet   I am some lame to day  no not feel the best

Feb. 28  Tues  Snowy   Ernest went up to Woodsvill to see Hanport on his business about the store   it is snowing hard now.
