Peanut Row, so called because before these houses were painted white they looked like a row of peanuts from acrossed the lake. These were mill houses and rented for $2.00 a week back in the 30’s when we lived there. Our house was the last one. The lake was in front of the house and the beach “ice house” was just up the road from us. Next to us was the Pitman’s, the McDonald’s, then Studevent’s and I don’t remember the name of the old man that lived in the last house. Just before we moved Mrs. Silk moved in there. These are the houses Guy wired in 1928.
