Sunday – my day to write all my letters and do my computer work so will start with my blog.  Wonderful to hear from Joyce.  Wish you were out dancing last night but nice to know you are still directing the north country even if it is from a walker.  Stay with us and enjoy as much as you can of this wonderful world.  We don’t go very far from home anymore not only because we are busy but more because this is where we are happy and enjoy our life.  We used to go on a cruise each year but found we spent the whole cruise counting the days until we could get back home and that is foolish, now we stay at home and do just as we want.  I make sure we stay healthy by eating right.  It does take a long time to cook as we eat no processed foods and use only stone ground whole wheat or sifted whole wheat flour.  The cold ground flour is so much better for you.  I have found I get the best flour there in New Hampshire at the Littleton Grist Mill , 18 Mill St, Littleton, NH  03561.  Of course I can’t go there to get the flour so I send for it by mail.  You can too by going to www.littletongristmill.com  I get 30 to 40 pounds of it at a time and store it in my freezer so it is always fresh, I use it right out of the freezer and I don’t have to chill the dough.  I developed recipes to use the whole wheat flour and they sell my booklet at the mill.  I have to send them more books this week so that is another of my jobs today to get more printed off.  I am also adding four new recipes I worked up this winter in Florida and used for my grand daughter and her family.  They just had twin boys and for a shower gift I gave them a cook for the four months I was in Florida.  I had fun cooking for them and playing with the babies.   Tell me you wouldn’t love doing for this grand daughter and great grand daughter and I wouldn’t believe you!!  Joyce, you and Dan met her when she was a little older than her daughter.  They came up every summer to visit us.  She looked very much like her daughter at that time.  Do you remember her?  Not surprizing if you don’t she was just another little kid then.  Now she is an amazing woman and mother.  Before I leave I’ll say Hi to Carl and Alice.  They are cousins of mine I write to every week.  They have no computer to follow my blog so I print off my blog and send it to them along with their weekly letter.  Love hearing from them and knowing they are still working hard at enjoying life as it is, great courage and wonderful people.  Have a great day.

About Carol (Ouma) Petts

I am a retired teacher. I have taught all levels from kindergarten through college and have been retired now for over 20 years. The last ten years we have lived on a farm and lived off the land, growing our own food and canning for our extended family. Now we have sold the farm and are moving to Florida to truly retire. I guess I have always had a short attention span as this is our 11th move. We have moved from a small farm in New Hampshire, to more city type living, small business adventures, focusing more on traveling, Florida living, Georgia, and Tennessee farming and now back to Florida. My blog is a way to keep my children up to date on what I am doing and letting them know I am still alive and well. My children are spread across the country from New England to Florida, Nova Scotia to New Mexico and CA and several places between, They let me know what they are up to by commenting on my blog but they are so busy with their own lives most times I have to assume " no news is good news". Now I are starting on a new adventure so will try to give daily updates until we get settled into a routine. Then I know even if I am getting older and should settle down I will start looking for some new and exciting adventure to start. Welcome aboard. Norman died Oct 30, 2017 so I am continuing the journey alone with the aid of my children, grand children and great grand children. At present I am living with my daughter and we are 7 in one house and cover four generations. We range in age from 7 to 85 and are finding common ground, we are living proof that multi generations can live and function in a three bedroom house if they really want to. Soon my grandson will have his house built next door so we all will have a room of their own except for the seven year old twins who by choice will share a room.
