Sunday, the day of rest.  Today I will write my letters.  I use email to write to my sister but to my cousins, Carl and Mary Lou I use letters, which I like best because I can read them over and over and enjoy them all week until the new one comes.  The lettuce is up but nothing else.  The peach trees are in bloom but none of the others and my seeds under the grow light still are not up.  Things go slowly at this time of the year.  The weather is so warm and they say we will get into the low 80’s this week, we are all holding our breath that we are not going to have a repeat of 2007 when we got the freeze the end of April and killed all the berries and fruit, that would be just too much!!  We do miss the family in Flordia, Patty writes which keeps us up with the changes but we do miss seeing them.  This was always our favorite way to spend the after noons and we miss it.   I have never seen such good babies.  They never cry even when they were not feeling good, except to let us know they were hungrey and them it was usually Colby who would cry and James just waited knowing he would get some too.   Gina is a doll also but she never did get to trust me, maybe next year  or even this summer when they come up for vacation, she will get to know I am not there to take her mom away or to baby sit with her and she will enjoy the fun things we can do together.  She does love my ipad so liked coming to my house.   One more picture of the boys, then have a great day.

This is my sister, we enjoyed our visit with each other and the twins.  She has Colby and I have James, he looks just like my son and Colby looks just like his dad.  They have very different personallities.  I can’ t resist putting on pictures of my two great grand daughters as well.  This is of course Regina, ot Gina for short.  She was three on March 3, 2012.  She is smart as a whip and can be so much fun.  She is very much like I was as a child so her parents will have their hands full trying to keep up with her!!

This is Dhyana she will be two on June 2.  She is going to be tall like her mother and father and just as smart.  She loved my dolls and we had a wonderful visit.  I got to see all my great grand kids except Alec.  I love the boys as well but we have so many boys in the family already that it is the great grand girls that I marvel at.  And not to be left out the rest of the great grand kids, seven in all.  This is Alec, he was in CA this christmas to visit his grand mother.  Maybe next year we will get to see him again.  I keep in touch with him by mail, a great kid and so smart!!  He wants to major in math just like his great grand mother and great, great, grand father, we were both math majors.    And first of all are Greg and Garrison.  Greg was our first, he goes into high school next fall.  We get to visit with them each winter when we go to Florida as they also live in Port St Lucie.  They are growing up so fast and carry on the family brains.  Handsom aren’t they?  Love them all.

About Carol (Ouma) Petts

I am a retired teacher. I have taught all levels from kindergarten through college and have been retired now for over 20 years. The last ten years we have lived on a farm and lived off the land, growing our own food and canning for our extended family. Now we have sold the farm and are moving to Florida to truly retire. I guess I have always had a short attention span as this is our 11th move. We have moved from a small farm in New Hampshire, to more city type living, small business adventures, focusing more on traveling, Florida living, Georgia, and Tennessee farming and now back to Florida. My blog is a way to keep my children up to date on what I am doing and letting them know I am still alive and well. My children are spread across the country from New England to Florida, Nova Scotia to New Mexico and CA and several places between, They let me know what they are up to by commenting on my blog but they are so busy with their own lives most times I have to assume " no news is good news". Now I are starting on a new adventure so will try to give daily updates until we get settled into a routine. Then I know even if I am getting older and should settle down I will start looking for some new and exciting adventure to start. Welcome aboard. Norman died Oct 30, 2017 so I am continuing the journey alone with the aid of my children, grand children and great grand children. At present I am living with my daughter and we are 7 in one house and cover four generations. We range in age from 7 to 85 and are finding common ground, we are living proof that multi generations can live and function in a three bedroom house if they really want to. Soon my grandson will have his house built next door so we all will have a room of their own except for the seven year old twins who by choice will share a room.
