I could not get on yesterday at all. Norman spent all his free time yesterday working on this darn computer and could not get it to open up at all. Finally this morning he restored it to two days ago and I got on line. Well, yesterday we finished pruning the tomatoes and now they look like they have had a butch hair cut. We picked what tomatoes were ripe and with the ones from the day before we decided there was enough to can. We peeled and deseeded the whole box and got made up the sauce and got 7 jars of speghetti sauce processed right after dinner. Now I have 6 quarts of tomato juice that I will heat and process on Tuesday morning when we can more tomatoes. I guess I will need to buy a couple cases of tomatoes at the farmers market before I get all I need but will wait until later in the season when the canning tomatoes are cheaper. I finished Roxanne’s boots and started knitting slippers for everyone. Norman has put in an order for a pair also so I will have to make a couple dozen pair before winter. Today is Sunday which means clean the house, write letters to everyone and rest. I do want to use my neat desk and put in Web’s reciepts and a copy of the bonds we give for Christmas and birthdays. That way if any get lost we have a record of them. Then if there is any time left I will start putting in my articles I want to keep handy. I have the books they are in but I can never find them when I want them so if they are in the folders in my “neat desk” I can search them and get them on in a second, I hope!! We also need to pick the ripe tomatoes and cukes. I have almost enough extra cukes to make a cucumber and onion relish. I found this recipe and want to try it. Have a great day.
